Andrea’s project, alongside TXDOT and local first responders; work very hard to influence the culture of the next generation about the choices they make, before getting on the road. We know that problems related to drinking and driving start young and we want to make sure our children are educated. Along with sharing his story, David Elizalde also stresses the importance of wearing your seatbelt and informs the students about the 911 LIFELINE LAW.
This law was passed in 2011, by the Texas Legislature. This law provides amnesty to minors who are first to report incidences of underage drinking to local authorities. If the minor reporting is under the influence, they will be offered amnesty, as well. The minor must remain at the scene and cooperate with local first responders.
